How To Build A Shed On Existing Concrete Slab

how to build a shed on existing concrete slab

The main problem with trying to frame a shed on an existing concrete slab is trying to set the sill plate. the actual framing follows a standard process, the only exception being that you may have to toe-nail to attach the studs.. Concrete makes a permanent slab on which to build or place your shed, but it is brittle. it needs reinforcement to give it added tensile strength and to prevent cracking. you can use steel rebar, or steel mesh, or opt for having synthetic fiber added to the concrete before pouring.. Build your slab the size of the shed floor. in other words if you are building an 8×12 shed then build an 8×12 slab. this way the siding will be able to hang over the side of the slab an inch to prevent water from seeping under the bottom plate and into your shed..
