Begin by framing the door opening, see illustration above for details. the header for the door can be built using 2×4’s or 2×6’s. cut two 2×4’s or 2×6’s to size, cut a piece of 1/2″ plywood and install between the lumber, see illustration above.. To build a door for a shed, start by cutting a piece of wood paneling or ti-11 siding to the size of the door opening, minus 1/2 inch on each side. next, cut boards to frame the top, bottom, and sides of your door, then glue them in place using wood glue.. Determine the size of the door opening. the size of the door opening will vary depending on the size of the door you plan to install. a typical door opening is 2 inches (5.1 cm) wider than the door size being installed to allow for the thickness of the jamb material and shims to plumb the jamb. measure your door carefully and cut the opening to fit using a reciprocating saw..
